Sustainability is a continuous topic of discussion with our raw material suppliers. In this way, responsible decisions can be made.
For example: where possible, we use recycled products such as railway ballast and crushed rubble as aggregates. In doing this, we seek as much collaboration with our customers as possible so that a closed loop is created.
Furthermore, cement is an important component in our products. Increasingly, we are using sustainable blast furnace cement. The use of this type of cement significantly reduces CO2 emissions.
Sustainable Grass Concrete Tiles
Our grass concrete tiles are made with Ekoliet® 0/8, an innovative and sustainable material that serves as a circular alternative to traditional ingredients in concrete mixes. The use of Ekoliet® in our grass concrete tiles reduces the use of primary raw materials sand and gravel, which cause significant CO2 emissions during extraction. Moreover, we now consider Ekoliet®, originally seen as a waste product, as a valuable resource. By giving Ekoliet® a new life, we actively contribute to the promotion of a circular economy, where materials are reused and recycled instead of discarded.

Solar panels
In April, 550 solar panels were installed on the roof of our sister company Fassaert Beton. This is part of a larger initiative by Groep De Hoop, in which a total of approximately 12,000 solar panels will be installed across 24 locations in the country. With this acquisition, Fassaert is self-sufficient in electricity.
With this expansion of sustainable energy sources, De Hoop aims to achieve its sustainability goals and make an active contribution to the energy transition. The solar panels not only provide significant savings on energy costs, but also help reduce CO2 emissions.
