Permara was developed in response to the increasing demands for water infiltration, climate adaptation and sustainable paving. This hybrid permeable concrete paving block combines two functions in a single product: a dense, wear-resistant top layer for long-term use and a porous base concrete layer for controlled water infiltration.
The surface of Permara consists of a high-quality, wear-resistant facing layer that can withstand intensive use. This makes the paving block suitable for applications where comfort, stability and durability come together, such as car parks, public squares, cycling facilities and other urban paved areas. Unlike fully porous paving, the surface offers greater resistance to wear and contamination.
Beneath the top layer is a water-permeable base concrete layer. Combined with integrated 3 mm spacers, this allows rainwater to infiltrate efficiently between the paving blocks and drain into the underlying foundation structure. This reduces peak loads on the sewer system and contributes to local water management. Correct construction of the foundation and subsoil is essential to ensure the infiltration system continues to function effectively over time.
Permara is available in sizes of 22 x 11 cm and 22 x 22 cm, with a thickness of either 8 cm or 10 cm. This allows the system to be tailored to the intended load and application. The minimal spacing between the paving blocks creates a closed, comfortable walking surface while maintaining its water-permeable properties.
