From Grey Expanses to Vibrant Outdoor Spaces

Several squares, footpaths and streets in the Goede Lucht (Bon Air) garden suburb were due for renewal. A solution was chosen that benefits both the climate and the neighbourhood: water-permeable Perfora® paving with wide joints that allow grass and moss to take root. This was combined with A’gora® paving in two different finishes, both in the Neige d’Ardenne colour.

Together, they create a calm, light-coloured canvas that allows rainwater to infiltrate into the soil alongside the paving. This reduces peak loads on the sewer system, replenishes groundwater and helps keep the neighbourhood cooler.

Approximately 2,500 m² of Perfora® for squares and paths
Approximately 2,500 m² of A’gora® for continuous pedestrian routes

Why Perfora®?

Perfora® paving has been designed with extra-large spacers. These create space between the paving blocks where vegetation can grow. Once established, the greenery forms a porous carpet between the blocks that:

Absorbs rainwater – water infiltrates through the root zone into the sub-base.
Dissipates heat – evaporation helps cool the surface.
Supports biodiversity – insects and small plants gain additional habitat.

Different Textures with A’gora®

The A’gora® paving was supplied in two finishes:

Ground – for a smooth and elegant appearance.
Shot-blasted – for a rougher texture.

Combining both finishes creates a subtle rhythm without making the overall pattern too busy.
