Sustainable and functional reconstruction of the Hamse market
The Hamme market has been redeveloped over the last 2 years with large buildings for residential purposes and the construction of the library. The PPP project was carried out by contractor democo, who had the design made by the renowned architectural firm Buur. The materials were chosen in line with a previous project in the immediate area, namely the Nieuwstraat. The color was developed especially for Hamme. The natural bond was used as a water-passing stone, jointed with chippings, or just closed with mortar to divert rainwater from the underground car park. The total surface area is 12,000 m2 a'gora shot blasted in various sizes and colors.
