From design to reality
In Vlissingen, the Scheldekwartier, old factories have been demolished to make way for new homes. In the week of July 10, old machines were highlighted at two locations using concrete tiles. In these tiles the alignment of the old machines is depicted life-size.These tiles are produced at our sister company Fassaert Beton using special molds. The motif of the required tiles has already been applied to the molds, meaning that the tiles were poured monolithically (in one go) and did not have to be processed afterwards. The motif has an anti-slip relief, which improves safety when walking on the tiles after a rain shower, for example. Fassaert used ZVB concrete (self-compacting concrete) for production. This gives the tiles a sleek appearance, making the lines clearly visible.
