The processing principle of these paving types consists of:
- Buffering of (rain)water in permeable paving and foundations
- Infiltration of (rain)water into soil, depending on soil permeability
- Delayed drainage of rainwater that does not infiltrate
Advantages

- Cost saving. No street gullies required.
- No rainwater in the sewer
- The rainwater goes directly into the soil
- Low maintenance. The top layer hardly becomes contaminated and the water permeability remains intact.
